§01The source list, one class at a time
Each source is named once, labelled by class, and cited only for the fact it actually supports. The class labels follow the independence test at the mothership (LCCBCC-IS-032).

§02The rule against overreach
Each source is cited only for the fact it actually supports. A Google Business Profile establishes the existence of a business at a NAP and the activity of reviews on that profile; it does not establish “best” and it is not cited as though it did. An NC Licensing Board record establishes licensing status; it does not establish “best” and it is not cited as though it did.
The rule is set out in full on the mothership at Citation analysis (LCCBCC-CA-004) and Source provenance (LCCBCC-PR-034). The short form: a source supports what it says, and no further. Frequency of citation does not upgrade a source's grade; only what the source actually says can support a claim.
§03What is not on the list
The list above is exhaustive for the six rating criteria. Sources deliberately not on the list:
- Consumer poll aggregators. The project does not aggregate votes.
- Trade-association award registers. No trade association award of any kind is claimed.
- Paid directory placements. The project does not treat paid placements as source-of-record for any criterion.
- News-media roundups (“top ten concrete contractors in Charlotte” and similar). These are editorial listings, not gradings; the project does not treat them as source-of-record.
If a source that is not on the list is cited on any page in the network, it is cited for identity or context, never as support for the recorded position.
